If you’re running your own business, you need to be able to stand out from your competitors. What’s more unique than revealing your personality? A successful entrepreneur knows they need to market themselves to reach their target audience. The best way to market your personality is through your brand.
A brand encompasses the visual representation, and essence of your business. This includes fonts, colors, illustrations, logos, and any other visual elements. It includes the emotions your audience experiences when they interact with your brand. And your brand is how your business shows up in the world.
It is crucial for your brand to showcase your personality if you are a solopreneur. The product or service you are selling is unique to you. You don’t want to be one of the many brands that are out of touch with their audience. A successful designer will showcase your brand through visuals that encompass who you are and what you do.
Why is this important?
For example, I follow plenty of artists on Instagram that are very much themselves. They put a lot of thought into their marketing strategy showcasing who they are as a person. When I follow an artist that I really like, I tend to buy from them because I want to support them. Of course, I love their art too, but it helps that I enjoy their content and who they are as people. They converted me into a customer because they presented their personality and I was able to connect with it. People want to buy from other people, not businesses. This is why YOU should incorporate your personality into your brand.
Artists are good at marketing because they have a strong brand message that comes from within. A brand message is the message a brand tells its audience. This is done through communication, social media, the web, and other marketing. You can incorporate your personality into your brand message. If you speak with your personal values in mind you can form a connection with your ideal audience. Your audience is going to find you based on your brand message. So if your brand message speaks to your ideal client, you are going to start attracting them.
Are your values and that of your business’ the same? What’s different about them? Find common themes between your brand’s values and your own. Start amplifying those connected values in your social media posts.
What do you love about your business? Make sure your audience knows! If your audience knows what you love, they know the heart that goes into your product or service.
What’s unique about you? Why should someone buy from you and not your competitor? Like I said earlier, people buy from people. Make sure your audience knows about you. What makes you interesting? Where have you traveled? What have you accomplished? These are just a few things you should be thinking about when it comes to your uniqueness.
If your personality shines through, then your audience can connect with you as a person. Incorporating your personality into your brand can help you to gain a bigger following, connect with your audience, and make more money.
